As I dump out this fresh edition of Saturday Screencaps, it’s a wet, cloudy, rainy, cool, miserable morning that will eventually make for an amazing day of college football once I get done watching 4th grade soccer and junior high cross-country.

Let’s get this morning rolling with some beer news, since so many of you are going to sit home and crush beers and watch college football. This week, Heidi Klum held her annual tapping of the Hofbrau keg in Hollywood, where she threw her annual party.

Drink up, fellas. It’s officially Oktoberfest.

Odds & ends on a Saturday morning

• As a guy who roots for content, I’m taking LSU -3 and the OVER. Feels like a 35-31 game. A last-second loss for Ole Miss could result in cars burning. Let’s hope it doesn’t get too out of control in Oxford tonight. Yes, they sell beer at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

• Was I right or was I right? Where are all the emailers who called me an idiot for my Wendy’s prediction? You’re damn right I’m not going to pat myself on the back. Some are even calling me #NostraKinsey.

• I need you guys to tell me where the worst stretches of highways are in the United States. I-75 through Monroe, MI is horrendous (granted, they’re working on it right now), but there’s a new stretch that is absolutely awful and embarrassing. I spent 4 1/2 hours driving home yesterday and there was a 40-mile stretch that had me dropping verbal f-bombs.

While I was typing, I thought about a stretch of I-71 into Louisville where I was equally pissed off. As a matter of fact, haven’t I called Louisville highways as absolute sh-tholes?

NFL COMMISSIONER ROGER GOODELL CONFIRMS LEAGUE WANTS MULTIPLE TEAMS BASED OUTSIDE THE US: ‘NO DOUBT’

• Best new business I’ve seen all week: a folding table business that popped up this week in Buffalo. The guy running this operation told me his boss told him to stand at the Big Tree Inn and sell tables. Yep, wait until Bills fans get drunk and want to create content. The idea is that they’ll need a table to break and money will be no object. This is American capitalism at its finest.

• This week, Roger Goodell made sure to hint, again, that the NFL really, really wants a team in London. Today, we’re getting. Kansas vs. Arizona State in London. Drip…drip…drip. It’s going to seem bizarre when the NFL announces a London franchise, but it’s coming, guys. Give Roger three years before the announcement.

In total, London football fans will get four games this fall — today’s college game and three upcoming NFL games.

The writing is on the wall.

Is joining a country club worth it?

– Eric P. in the PnW asks: I need assistance on whether I should join a country club , and more specifically, one of the nicest in the state of Washington. Sure, it was a beautiful 75 degree day yesterday when I had the chance to try the course, which is difficult but would improve my game. but pretty soon the weather will hit and it’s at the base of the mountains, so Nov-Feb. are more than likely limited play times. The fact that it’s one of the nicest courses  the Senior tour  plays at helps; But it’s 25 miles from my house, so I wouldn’t necessarily use the practice facilities or restaurant as much as I should.  i’d have to play 10-12 times a month to make the monthly dues acceptable.

I’m on the fence as they offered me a great deal with two years to pay off the initiation with no interest; a years free dues and cart and a huge food credit.     I’d love to hear from someone that has joined a club and loved it. And someone that has joined a club and regretted it.  And it’s even nicer surroundings  than the photos show.

Kinsey: This is a great question and is actually something I’ve been throwing around in my head. There’s a country club a mile down the road that I’ve contemplated joining. Screencaps Jr. wants to play golf, which is great, but it’s also $100 for he and I to play a 2 1/2 star course. He and I would need to play five times a month to get the value out of the membership. Seems doable.

But then I wonder if there will be burnout. Would we really want to play the same course 35 times a year?
